Vladimir Litvinenko was born in Gadyach, Poltava Region, Ukraine in 1930. He was accepted into the Odessa Art Institute in 1950, graduating in 1956. While a student, he studied with the noted artists N. Pavlyuk and Grigori Kryzhevsky.
The talented artist became an official artist of the Soviet Union in 1957, when he was accorded membership in the Union of Artists. His works were exhibited throughout the U.S.S.R. through the 1980"s, and his paintings have been acquired by numerous State/Ukrainian museums. In post-Soviet times, his works have been exhibited in Great Britain, Canada, and the United States.
Litvinenko is active in Odessa, Ukraine. He is listed on page 188 of Matthew Bown’s, A Dictionary of Twentieth Century Russian and Soviet Painters, 1900-1980’s.
