Aleksei Kamenev was born in Penza, Russia.
He graduated from the Penza Art School in 1999. While at the Penza Art School, Kemenev studied in the studio of professor Borisov.
The talented young artist has participated in the following exhibitions:
Kamenev’s landscapes and genre paintings employ a bright palette, with paints thickly applied in broad, confident brushstrokes, reminiscent of the working class impressionism of the Soviet period. Kamenev lives and works in Russia today and travels often. His wife, Dzhemma Mkheyan, is also a painter.
