Timur Akhriev was born in Vladikavkaz, Russia in 1983.  In Russia, he studied at the St. Petersburg Art Middle School and High School  named after the artist Boris Iogansan. Many of his instructors also taught at the Repin Academy of Fine Arts. During the evenings, he received private tutoring from Nikita Fomin, son of Piotr Fomin.

After graduation, he immigrated to the United States to live with his father, Duad Akhriev and stepmother, Mellissa Hefferlin, who are also Russian trained artists.  Timur then attended the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga where he enrolled in a Fine Arts program.  During this time, he exhibited  his artwork and won several “Best in Show” awards. Furthering his education, he studied in Florence, Italy at the Florence Academy of Art and studied with Charles Cecil in his studios, working on drawing and painting.

Timur Akhriev is a member of the Association for Visual Arts.  Through this organization he has placed his painting in the City of Chattanooga, the United Way and Unum Provident Insurance Headquarters and many other establishments in the Chattanooga area.  He has had many commissions for private collectors and is collected throughout the world today.
